Robert Vogt IV has created a search engine for the Ann Arbor area.  Ann Arbor is now the fourth US city to have its own search engine!  The recently completed ArborSearch search engine lists over 500 Ann Arbor-Ypsilanti business, organization, and government web sites.  New sites are being added every day.

ArborSearch is capable of submitting keywords to over twenty US and international search engines, speeding up the process of finding information.

Advertising space is available for local organizations/businesses for a minimal fee (see advertising section). The majority of proceeds will be donated to a local charity, a homeowner's association, and a local high school. ArborSearch has an international audience (as demonstrated by the frequency of site submissions from overseas), making it an ideal place for a business to increase visibility and build name recognition.

The site is adding new features continually.  Organizations can update their site's listing and create an extended listing with business contact information.  The site has an electronic voting booth where citizens can voice their opinions on topics of local significance.  In the future, there will be a rating system for sites, in order to save users time.

The local search engine is filtered so that only fully appropriate sites are listed. To prevent broken links, listed sites are routinely checked for functionality.
